Transformers United Laser Optimus Prime Review

Sorry for messing up with layout ^^. but here another review. today i'm gonna do unusual thing by reviewing Transformers figure. I've been interested in this line again since i was kid and when i got it, i'm really surprise that the figure has a lot of improvement compare to the old stuff i got. so lets get to the review...

~OVERVIEW~

Figure Detail :
Manufacturer : Takara Tomy
Line : Transformers United
Type : Deluxe Class
Name : Laser Optimus Prime

(picture of the box credit goes to someone on TFW2005 forum)

Note that this is the Takara Tomy United version, so there is some differences with Hasbro Reveal The Shield version. although i don't have the hasbro version so i can't show the differences.

Alt Mode

this mode looks really good, has a lot of nice detail and detail up paint like on the grill and bumber. unfortunately i can't seem to peg in the hood properly. And i have a hard time making everything line up properly so sometime not all the whell touching the ground

Robot Mode

The transformation is quite simple but there are some tricky part like on the wheel for example.

~ARTICULATION~

Hands are on simple swivel joint that can move quite good although they're quite limited by the shoulder.

Head is on usual ball joint so its move okay.

Elbow single jointed with a swivel below the shoulder. Hands on ball joint and have extra joint on the wrist so the movement is really good.

Waist move kinda limited actually by the backpack. Hiips on ball joint with a tie swivel

The knee only move on less than 90 degree due to the whell get in the way.

Ankle is really good with hinch for transformation and ball joint with extra cut so he can do quite far ankle tilt.

~ACCESSORIES~

He only came with one accessory which the sword that was the trailer hitch.

~ACTION!~

~COMPARISON~

here compare with united drift that i also got recently...

Conclusion:
Pros :
+ Alt mode looks good
+ Lots of detail
+ Extra paint apps

Cons:
- Nose section of the cab doesn't seems to peg in properly
- Fitting problem
- Expensive (around $40)

in conclucion, this figure is relatively good although have some problem mostly in alt mode, which is kinda sad considering its transformers. overall not too bad, but once again this is the Takara Tomy version so its gonna cost you lot more than Hasbro aka US version. i actually want to buy the Hasbro version but there is a reason why i get this and seeing what the hasbro one looks, looks like this one is lot better so its up to you to decide whether extra money you pay is worthed.

Thanks for reading :)
