Transformers Universe Nemesis Prime (SDCC) Review

I want to review this guy for quite a long time but never get around to do it so here it is. And i'm using picture of the box from google but i'll be updating the pic of the actual box later on.

This figure is a repaint of Classics Optimus Prime which sadly i don't have and originally sold in Sand Diego Comic Con 2010 i believe and can be found at aftermarket for quite lot, but i got it from auction while ago for rather decent price. Enough with the crap, let's get into the review....

~OVERVIEW~

Figure Detail :
Manufacturer : Hasbro
Line : Transformers Universe
Type : Voyager
Name : Nemesis Prime

Alt Mode

The alt mode overall is quite pleasing. There are couple of panel gap showng but not too bad. My only gripe is that the obvious robot toe that sticking out of the back and smokestack that barely looks like a smockstack. But overall its quite nice, could've use some silver on the grill though.

Robot Mode

I should mention, before go to a robot mode you have to take the smokestack and the roof of the truck off (you don't necessarily needed to take off the roof part, but its makes things easier).

Interestingly he has a clear eyes which work as light pipping but they paint his eyes. Although the light pipping is still kinda works.

The overall robot mode is also quite pleasing. The proportion and everything is correct. Although one thisng you might notice, he has an extra alt mode junk on his back and the arm which considered a kibble. But for me they not looks terrible but also quite cool so i don't mind.
One thing i wanna talk about is the color. Nemesis Prime in many iteration is known for having a Black, Silver and Teal with Red windshield. This guy got the black and teal but for some reason they added extra color for the lower legs and the head, and also using blue for the windshield. Seems kinda odd but its not too bad actually.

~ARTICULATION~

lot of joint on this guy is using Ratchet joint, so its quite hard too move them around but its mean it not gonna loosen up anytime soon

You get the usual arm articulation, arm rotate 360 degree, shoulder swivel and elbow. No wrist swivel unfortunately

He has a waist joint but in order to use it you have to move his back kible out of the way.

The legs can move forward-backward and spilt without of problem because there are nothing to stop them.

The knee can bend for about 90 degree.

You don't get hip swivel but you can swivel at the knee.

So the articulation is not that great but i think its just enough. Could've use an ankle joint tho...

~ACCESSORIES~

The smokestack that we pull out earlier can be turn into a blaster, which is kinda need

The roof of the truck mode can also be turn into some sort of cannon which looks okay i guess.

It also can be mounted on nemesis's back while it on roof configuration or as a cannon.

You can also combine the two and it can still be attach on his back for.... some reason.

Hold in hand...

~ACTION!~

~COMPARISON~

This guy is rather big so let's see some comparison

Rodimus here is deluxe and nemesis is voyager so theres quite a size differences.

Just for the heck of it, here is next to Figma BRS that i just review

Conclusion:
Pros:
+ Clean Alt Mode
+ Good Robot Mode
+ Clean Paint-apps

Cons:
- Extra kibble
- Odd color choice
- Mediocre articulation

So overall this figure is just about okay, but this is one of the better transformers mold i've seen. Like i said earlier, this guy can be found at aftermarket for quite a lot (around $50 - $80), but i got mine in auction for $40. For that price i think it just about woth it, but i won't pay much than that. So thats about it...

Thanks for reading :)
